What to Look For in a Racing Chair

!±8± What to Look For in a Racing Chair

Racing chairs have recently grown in popularity, and for good reason. They're comfortable, help tremendously with racing games, and make the overall racing game experience a more realistic, more enjoyable one. Different racing chairs are made for different things, and there are many different things that make one racing seat better than another one, but many people don't know these differences, and end up having a hard time choosing one when they go shopping for one.

Following the guidelines listed below will aquatint you with what makes a racing chair good, and should point you in the right direction towards buying the racing seat that'll satisfy your gaming needs and ensure that you have a blast while racing through the maps of FORZA or GT5.

You should also keep in mind that the game itself may be more suited towards a particular driving wheel so ensure that the wheel you have will fit on the chair that you eventually buy. Fortunately, most racing chairs will fit all sets but sometimes a particular chair may be designed for a wheel alone while others will have room for you to put the pedals as well.

Material Quality Many racing chairs (in fact I once owned a racing chair like this) are made of pure plastic and very cheap seating material. These are the cheapest chairs, and will really feel like plastic junk. You're looking for sturdier chair that is made of some carbon and possibly a few metal support rods. If the chair is made of 100% plastic than odds are its other features are just as cheaply made. Also pay attention to the material the seat is made from, cheaper nylons tend to rip and wear down much quicker than say cotton seats.

Comfort While Racing You're going to want to buy yourself a chair that's comfortable while you're in the racing seating position. Many chairs are stuffed with bad materials, or just have awkward shapes that won't be comfortable for extended periods of time. The best chairs will be the most comfortable chairs, and you really want to pay special attention to this factor since if the chair isn't comfortable you'll likely rarely use it. Really what you're looking for in the end is what it's made of. The other things, such as built-in speakers are just extras that you'll either want or not want.
